Roundstone

I spent the last two nights sleeping on the beach at Roundstone. It is a tiny village known for being home to a famed bodhran (Irish frame drum)  craftsman. I visited the bodhran shop, and was a little disappointed. It was kind of cool to see how the drums are made, but the shop was really just a tourist gift shop, with a bodhran section on the side.

Besides bodhrans, Roundstone is home to a beautiful beach, a couple pubs, and a nice cafe. While there I booked a flight to England, leaving from Dublin on Monday. I decided not to take the bike, since transporting it to England would cost more than transporting myself, and I’d like to give bike-less travel a try for a while. Later that very day, I sold the bike to the waitress at the cafe, and took the bus back to Galway.
